Feature
Automated SEO reports that rebuild themselves every week
Connect Search Console once. Flowra rebuilds a report for each site every week, tells you when it is ready, and gives your client a link that always shows the current one, under your agency's name.
The short answer
An automated SEO report is one nobody has to build. In Flowra, each site you connect gets a report that rebuilds itself every week from its Search Console data, and the app shows you when the new one is ready. You share it with the client as a link, and that link always shows the current report, with your agency's name, logo and colour on it. There is no export, no copying charts into slides, and no stale PDF sitting in the client's inbox.
The problem
Why SEO reporting is still a manual job at most agencies
The data already exists. Search Console has every click, impression and position for every page. The work is in getting it out: set the dates, export, paste into the template, rebuild the charts, write the summary, save a PDF, send it. Then do it again for the next client.
Two things go wrong with that. The first is time, multiplied by the number of sites you look after. The second is quieter: the report is out of date the moment it is sent. When the client opens it three weeks later, or forwards it to their boss, they are reading a snapshot of a month that has already moved on.
Automating SEO reporting fixes both, but only if the automation covers the whole chain. A dashboard that refreshes still needs someone to explain it. A scheduled PDF still goes stale. What clients actually want is a report that is current whenever they look, and that reads like someone wrote it for them.
In the product
What the automated report looks like
This is the Report tab for a site, next to the Search Console, GA4, Index Coverage and Optimize tabs. The cover opens on a verdict in plain words before a single chart: on the demo site, "Strong", with clicks up 17%. Underneath, it says what it covers: seven days of Search Console data, each change compared with the seven days before.
The line above the section tabs is the point of the whole feature: "This is exactly what your client sees." What you check in the app is what the client opens from their link.
What is inside
What an automated SEO report should include
A good client report answers four questions in order: how did it go, what worked, what did not and why, and what happens next. The sections of Flowra's report follow that order, and they are the tabs you see across the top of it.
- CoverThe week in one word and one number: "Strong. Clicks up 17%." on the demo site.
- OverviewThe headline totals for the period against the period before.
- WinsWhat went up, so the good news is not buried in a table.
- By topicThe same numbers cut by subject rather than by URL.
- KeywordsThe queries the site was found for.
- ProblemsWhat went down.
- WhyThe reasons behind the movement, next to the problems they explain.
- What we didThe work behind the numbers.
- What is nextThe plan for the coming period.
- Page speedHow fast the site is.
- Full numbersThe totals behind every chart, for the client who wants the spreadsheet view.
Notice what is not there: no domain authority score, no backlink count, no rank tracker of its own. Flowra does not have that data, so the report does not pretend to. Positions come straight from Search Console, which means the client sees the same numbers Google shows them if they ever log in themselves.
Custom SEO reports
What you can change, and what stays automatic
The period. The report opens on the latest week. A week picker steps back through earlier ones, and Custom range sets any dates you like, for the monthly review or the quarter.
The content. An Edit report button sits above the report, and Preview shows it the way the client will see it, so you can check it before you send the link.
The branding. Each client share link carries your agency's name, logo and colour. On Starter and Pro, a small "Report made with Flowra" line stays at the bottom. The Agency plan removes it, which makes the report fully white-label.
A file, when someone asks for one. Download saves a copy for the client who wants something to attach to a board pack.
What you do not do is rebuild it. The numbers refresh every week on their own, and the link the client already has keeps showing the newest report.
Limits
What automated SEO reporting in Flowra does not do
It does not email anyone. Nothing sends reports to clients on a schedule. The client opens the link when they want to, and you can open it with them on a call. If your client insists on a report landing in their inbox every month, that is a gap today, and Looker Studio's scheduled email (below) covers it.
It does not crawl the site, check backlinks or look up keyword volumes. The report is built from what Search Console measures for the site you connected, nothing scraped from elsewhere.
And a weekly rebuild is not live data. Search Console itself runs a couple of days behind, so a report for last week is the freshest honest view there is.
Do it yourself
How to automate SEO reports without Flowra
You can get most of the way with Looker Studio, which is free and has a Search Console connector built by Google. It is a real option, and if you report on one or two sites it may be all you need.
- 1Open Looker Studio, create a blank report and add a data source: the Search Console connector and your property. It offers two tables: Site Impression for queries and URL Impression for pages.
- 2Add scorecards for Clicks, Impressions, Average CTR and Average Position, a time series of clicks, a Query table from Site Impression and a Landing Page table from URL Impression, each sorted by clicks.
- 3Set the report's default date range to the last 28 days (or last 7) with a comparison to the previous period, so every number carries its change.
- 4Add your logo, colours and a text box for commentary. This is the part that takes an afternoon the first time.
- 5Share it as a view-only link, and if the client wants it in their inbox, use Share, then Schedule delivery.
- 6Every period after that, open it, read what changed, and rewrite the commentary by hand. That part never automates.
The numbers stay current that way. What does not is the story: a Looker Studio template shows a chart going down, and somebody still has to write why. That template also has to be copied and re-pointed for every new client.
If you only need one report, once, the free Search Console report generator turns a Performance export into a branded PDF in your browser, with nothing uploaded.
